Dear John Wayland Families,

Today we completed our second lockdown drill of the school year. Schools are required to conduct four lockdown drills each year, with two taking place during the first 20 days of school. Our students did a great job following directions and taking the drill seriously.  Once again, we were joined by our local law enforcement partners and our school resource officer who helped us practice these important safety procedures. Each time we hold a drill, we learn valuable lessons that help us continue to keep our school a safe place for everyone.

These drills are an important way for us to practice and prepare, and they are always conducted with the well-being of our students in mind. If you have any questions about anything we are doing to keep the kids safe please, don’t hesitate to call. As always, thank you for your continued support as we work together to keep John Wayland Elementary a safe place to learn and grow.

Fall Picture Day is coming up this Thursday, September 18th!  Students will have their individual photos taken during the school day.  These pictures will be used for our yearbook and are also available for families to purchase.  Each student will be handed an individualized form with their own personal code for you to order pictures. 

Please be sure your child comes ready for their photo on Thursday morning!
